The Canvas 4 and Titanium S9 have very
similar specs, sharing the same processor, similar cameras, and almost all
other features. That being said, how do you know which phone is the right one
for you?
Micromax
Canvas 4 Specifications
Micromax’s Canvas 4 is available in two
colors - grey and white. The device has a classy, durable aluminum body.
The Canvas 4 is a 5-inch phone with an HD
display. The device has the MT6589 quad-core processor, clocked at 1.2GHz. It
has 16 GB of internal memory that is expandable to 32 GB via microSD, along
with 1 GB of RAM. The device comes running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).
The phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera
with auto-focus. It also has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, which is pretty
good for a smartphone on the market today.
The Canvas 4 has a 2,000 mAh battery, which
can provide users with 9 days of standby time or 8 hours of talk time. Other
features the phone has include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, a microUSB port,
dual-SIM support, GPS, and FM radio to boot.
Karbonn
Titanium S9 Specifications
Karbonn’s Titanium S9 only comes in white.
It comes with a flip cover upon purchase.
The Titanium S9 has a 5.5-inch HD display.
This is half an inch larger than the screen on the Canvas 4. The device has the
same processor as the Canvas 4, the MT6589 quad-core processor by MediaTek,
which clocks at 1.2GHz.
The device also has 16 GB of memory that
can be expanded to 32 GB through microSD and 1 GB of RAM. It also comes running
Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). These specs all match those of the Canvas 4.
The Titanium S9 has a 13-megapixel rear
camera with auto-focus and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Furthermore, the
device has a 2,600 mAh battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, a microSD port,
dual-SIM support, GPS, and FM radio to boot.
Who
Wins?
Both phones have great specifications for
phones out on the market right now. The only real differences between the
phones are screen size, battery, and cost.
Both the Titanium S9 and the Canvas 4 will
offer a great phablet device to users. If you prefer a little more tablet than
phone, you may prefer the Titanium S9, since it has more screen real estate.
For most users with phones that have 3- or 4-inch screens, either device will
be seen as an upgrade. In other words, most users would be satisfied with the
screen on either device.
The Titanium S9 has a more powerful
battery, however, this doesn’t necessarily mean it has more talk and standby
time. The larger screen may counteract the battery. It’s hard to say which will
have better battery life.
Finally, the Titanium S9 is a little more
expensive, priced at Rs. 19,990, while the Canvas 4 is priced at Rs. 17,999. If
you have a strong preference for the 5.5-inch screen, go with the Titanium S9.
Otherwise, you’ll likely be as satisfied with the cheaper Canvas 4. Whatever
the case, both phones are excellent competitors to the Galaxy Note 2 and the
soon-to-be Note 3, which will retail for much higher.
